Emotional Maltreatment: a very high number of it"Clearly this is not an issue we should be brushing off." - says the scientist, after giving an alarmingly high percentages of people experiencing emotional abuse. We are extremely numerous, but most of us don't dare speak it out-loud.Emotional Maltreatment: a very high number of it by Ashry42
However, it is time we do! If we want things to change.
I have already shown in my previous journals the devastating effects emotional abuse has on you.
(please check it out if you haven't already: How childhood trauma affects you)
However, since it has no physical wounds, people tend to brush it off.
But she clearly states that emotion abuse is "equally, if not more damaging to a child's mental health [compared to sexual or physical]"
I'm not saying physical or sexual abuse isn't as bad, of course it's extremely horrible! I believe they are all equally damaging. But I'm just showing with this example that people tend to treat physical
We have possibly regained a 9th planet! - EDIT"We have convincing evidence that the census of the solar system is incomplete."We have possibly regained a 9th planet! - EDIT by Ashry42
Okay okay; so before I go on this topic, and before I get tomatoes thrown at me, please please let me just say one word, okay?
This planet hasn't been discovered... YET!
HOWEVER, there is a GOOD chance that we have another planet in our solar system based on proper, correct evidence.
I invite you to go check out the video from this article:
This latter video clearly explains how they discovered it:
The article I mentioned above explains that the planet would actually originally have been closer to the sun when it first formed, just like the other planets, but was pushed back by the gravitational force of the other planets.
A few words on wordsPeople say that words can't hurt. But I think they can.A few words on words by Ashry42
Speech is a powerful tool because words have meaning associated to them. When you say the word "dog" immediately you picture in your mind a furry mammal who wags its tail and barks. When you say the word "love" you picture that warm feeling in your heart. That's because we associate meaning to words. Words aren't just letters jumbled up together to form a random sentence. Or else we wouldn't be able to read or communicate through writing if words didn't mean anything, or meant something different for each individual (which is why we have dictionaries).
That is why we love reading stories and why we are capable of feeling for fictional characters. They don't exists but we still feel for them, because we associate meanings and feelings to the words we use.
That is why words can hurt just as much as they can heal.

They're like: "awww, you're mom is just really worried about you, don't take it personally..." No. Just no.Abuse looks kind by Ashry42
Because even though they may "seem" kind, what happens in the house, in private, is a totally different matter... Not kind at all...
She keeps saying "we'll talk about it in the house, now get in the house."
And he says "I don't want to go in the house, you're scary, you've tried to choke me once."
The cops came and this woman told the cops: "You said I could use whatever force necessary [...] aside from killing him."
Whatever force, besides killing him? Wow. No wonder your "baby" son is scared of you... I don't even want to know what you will do to him "aside from killing him"...
Just the fact that she even utter a sentence like that is already not very reasuring... Would a normal mother (o
